Back in the '70s and '80s, MaryB's art was very much in demand. And she really enjoyed drawing. On Saturday nights when the gang would gather round the VCR to watch the latest offering from the UK, Mary was frequently drawing. And not always in her own drawing pad - sometimes she'd grab mine and just go for it.
I also used to jumpstart art auctions for her - if something needed another bid to go to auction, I'd put a bid down. Sometimes it worked out well for Mary, and the piece would get bid up. Sometimes I ended up with a new piece for my collection.
And of course, we each did art for the other's zines. The early B7 Complexes - not to mention Moonbeam and Felgercarb - were often graced by lovely pieces by MaryB. And she was much in demand. Here are but a few of her pieces, with more to be added over time. For some of these pieces, this is the first time they're on public display, as the art was not previously published. For others, here's another opportunity to see MaryB's work. Enjoy!
